Fun Crafts Perfect for a Snow Day

My kids tend to romanticize snow days. While a day off school to play out in the snow sounds fun, the reality is that the overwhelming snow and low temperatures will drive them back inside within an hour. This leaves you and your kids trapped inside all day with nothing to do. So what now? Instead of wasting the day away looking at a screen, why not get crafty? Here are some fun snow day crafts I found on Pinterest to help you and your family weather the storm. They’re simple, fun and require materials you probably already have at home.

Paper Bag Monster Puppets

I love this project because my children are little monsters themselves so it will be interesting to see what their imaginations will conjure. There’s no wrong way to do this, so go wild!

Marshmallow Shooters

My children love to attack each other so this is perfect for all of us because they still get to have their fun without me worrying about them hurting each other. After the battle is over, challenge yourselves and aim for targets!

Borax Snowflake Crystals

I saved my favorite for last because these are absolutely STUNNING. They’re super easy to make too! This project requires you to boil water so make sure the kids are under close supervision. Keep in mind, Borax is toxic when ingested, so make sure your kids don’t eat these because they WILL think it’s candy.
