Candy Apple Slices – Country Square TV

One of my children’s favorite snacks is an old-fashioned candy apple. Whether they’re covered in chocolate and caramel, or the classic red candy, the crisp and refreshing juiciness of the apple combined with the sweet coating is to die for. However, most times they’re so big they can’t finish them. Thankfully, I’ve created a delicious alternative: these delectable candy apple slices! This time around I tried a trusty classic: basic chocolate coating with a caramel drizzle, topped with crunchy pecans. What’s great about this recipe is that it allows you to try different combinations of toppings and flavors. Try this recipe for yourself with your loved ones, but don’t forget to share your creation with us on our Facebook page!

Ingredients:

• Apples

• Peanut Butter

• 3-quart saucepan (find the Fleischer & Wolf saucepan featured in this video on our shop page)

• Melting chocolate

• Coconut oil

• Kraft caramels

• Lollipop sticks

• Pecans

• Parchment paper

Instructions:

1. Cut your apples vertically into 4 slices

2. Politely impale your apples with the lollipop sticks

3. Slather each side with peanut butter

4. Place a 3-quart saucepan on your stove set to medium-high heat

5. Fill saucepan with melting chocolate

6. Add the coconut oil and stir until chocolate is melted and even consistency

7. Dip your apple slices in the melted chocolate and let them chill on parchment paper (so that your chocolate doesn’t stick) for 10 minutes

8. Melt your caramel and lightly drizzle

9. Crush up your pecans and lightly cover them on your apple slices

10. Enjoy!
